Who They Are: A Journey Through Secret Retreats
Secret Retreats is a community of curated boutique hotels, lodges, villas, riverboats, and yachts across Asia, offering unique and authentic experiences that celebrate local cultures and traditions. Each property is independently owned and managed by hoteliers passionate about sustainable hospitality.
Secret Retreats also provides a variety of travel experiences, from handcrafted itineraries and cruises to unique culinary journeys at select local restaurants. The focus is on offering guests a deep connection to the “essence of Asia” through personalized, immersive stays and experiences.
The Challenge
Covid 19 stalled all tourism activities for nearly 3 years. So after everything returned to normal they wanted to increase their overall visibility online through various channels. Secret Retreats always depended on their word-of-mouth marketing and receiving reservations from recommendations which had worked in the past, but with increasing competition and the thriving online markets, they needed to adapt.

We started by conducting a thorough and deep analysis of all their marketing channels. From their social media, their blogs and to their website. We then looked into their potential guests demographics and behavior. We found that the majority of their potential guests are from Europe and the americas. We then conducted a competitor’s analysis to outline potential strategies that we could implement.

How We Made It Happen
We decided that we needed to focus on their social media channels first. After creating a content calendar for the next 6 months, we got started. First we needed to focus on maximizing their social media channels. So we took over all of their channels and started posting engaging and informative content.
We then moved on to advertising. We started running social media advertising campaigns mainly through Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin. The goal of these advertising campaigns was to increase awareness. We then adapted and created campaigns with the goal of increasing their website visitors which then leads to more reservations.
We also ran a Google ads campaign to capture search interest and drive traffic to their website. By focusing on both social media and Google Ads, we were able to significantly boost their online presence and reservation numbers.
Then it was time to focus on their SEO. The Majority of their revenue comes from Travel Itineraries so we had to focus on that side of the website first.
